Emperors Retreat for Your Majestic Stay in Split!
Hotels in Split can be expensive, and the amenities are not always there. Our apartment offers classic furnishings and decor for your stay with the touch of luxury.
Emperors Retreat apartment itself consist of a one double bedroom, living/dining room with double sofa bed, well equipped kitchen, and the bathroom. We can accommodate up to 4 persons in our 45 m2 size apartment. Air-conditioning keeps you cool during hot summer days, and warm during the winter months. Wireless broadband internet connection, satellite TV, DVD player, and music player are there for your chill-out moments during your vacation in Croatia.
Apartment's great location is close to nightlife, entertainment, shops, historic places, Diocletians Palace, sea, and beaches. Car is not necessary and you can get anywhere you want in Split by walking distance, but there is a paid parking just few minutes walk from Emperor's Retreat for those who need a car.
Apartment itself is conviniently located on the first floor (not the ground floor) of the old stone building, and in the middle of the old town center. Our building with the history used to be the owned by nuns. History and culture shows in every corner of the apartment; history is engraved in the old stone walls.
Right next to the building and the apartment, there are numerous churches, museum, shops, restaurants, Diocletians Palace. Imagine strolling down narrow streets of downtown Split, checking the old Roman walls of the emperor Diocletian.
Or you prefer a shopping spree. Split has a great selection of small shops. Traditional jewelry shops are worth your visit, and the selection of golden jewelry is great.
Hungry? No problem. Local produce and fish markets are steps away for your local food sampling. Various restaurants offer convenience for those who want to spend more time exploring and sightseeing, and less time in the kitchen.
Exploring Split on foot is easy from our apartment. Visit the port and watch boats sail off in the sunset. Take sailing trips to local islands, or just stay at the local beaches (Bacvice) and dip your feet in the water. And do not forget the hiking trip to Marjan hill for that special picture perfect moment in Split.

My family and I spent approx 10 days staying in the Garden Apartments. We found the accommodation good, the position 100% perfect in relation to the Riva and Palace, and Nikola and his family could not have been more helpful and kind to us. We thank them all for a very happy stay in Croatia and hope to be back there again...

We showed up unbooked and unannounced, and the amazing Nicola not only welcomed us with open arms, maps, recommendations on where to go/eat/walk, he also gave us the best apartment in the Garden complex -and they weren't even open! He is truly a good heart. We had a huge, beautifully furnished, fully equipped, modern apartment in a centuries-old stone house, with a balcony, TV, kitchen, luxurious bathroom, the works for an amazingly reasonable price.

Our stay in Split was amazing and mostly because of Nikola and the others at Garden Cottages and Apartments. We only had a couple of days there and needed to make the most of our time. Nikola met us at our bus, which was such a nice bonus (I have searched for private accomodations in the past and it is never a fun experience in foreign places.)
